Forsaken (September 2009)
by Helen Davis
Fovant Abbey has fallen into disrepair, forcing the nuns to sell it to the highest bidder - and quickly. The calm and collected Sister Mary has been given the responsibility of organising the sale, but what she hasn't counted on is attracting the attentions of her gay estate agent. As Mary begins to question her faith, dark secrets are revealed and it becomes apparent that she is as powerless to prevent the changes that are going on around her, as others are to protect themselves from the consequences of their actions.
Forsaken, a new play commissioned for Particular Theatre Company from Helen Davis, was performed at The Hourglass, Exeter, for three weeks in September 2009.
